How much per sq ft to build a deck?

10 x 20 deck with 2 steps.

It will be approximately $2,800, being at $14/sqft. Depending on if it requires railings or not, they will be extra.

Hi Tammy,

Keep in mind you have to have a couple of footings installed for support and railings if your deck is more than 24 inches off the ground. Which will put costs a little higher approx $20-25 sq/ft.

Hi Tammy,

That is a hard question to ask, because of the huge different in a basic deck to a well built low maintenance deck. A basic Pressure treated deck without rails would start around $20/ ft2, and can go to over $100/ft2. Our average 200 ft/2 composite deck would be around $40 to $60/ft2.
