How much for supply and install of one basement window, without cutting concrete. Size is 40 x 21.
For install only I would charge $150.00. I would need to see the job and get exact measurements of the opening before a window would be ordered to put it. Then I will explain how a proper install would be done. You can not install a window directly to concrete. Have to put pressure treated lumber around the opening first and seal it to the concrete for moisture. Then the window tabs can be screwed to the 2x8 or 2x10 depending on the thickness of your foundation. Caulking needs to be applied behind the tabs around the window prior to install on the wood frame of the concrete opening.
Clay,
It depends on the window and the basement. Thickness of the walls, above ground level(I'm assuming),type of siding, type of window (slider, awning, casement, etc.) ... it must be egress (meaning proper type and size to allow for an escape route show an emergency arise), any wiring in the wall, ease of access. In short, the contractor should see the project before providing an estimate.
Installation won't cost you much. I got windows installed for $120 from North Tech Windows and Doors in Canada. but before that make sure if there is no extra work to be done in the chocolate base. Because if you install the windows without proper guidance and planning it may result in you losing more money. So take a second opinion before you decide something.
It will cost you 1/4 day. So $250.00 plus materials.
