I have been interested in starting my own business for a while now. However I am having troubles finding information on how to get a Contractor License and what are the requirements I will need to start my business.

Any help on this subject will be great help.

I would suggest joining your local chamber of commerce and continue to be 100% devoted to your local community and networking to grow your business.

Your city office will have forms where you can order volume 1 and 2 of the Ontario building code. In order to get your license you will need liability insurance of $1,000,000 or more. Most companies insure for $2,000,000. You need a police background check. The test to be licensed is an open book test, but you need to know where to find the information.

An accountant will be able to register you with a business HST number as well.

First open your company , then try to get information from the Local 183 or Local 27. These two locals will give you your carpenter licence. For contactor i dont know but this is how i got my carpenter licence. You can try visiting them and maybe then can give more information on that.
