I have a 6'x10' concrete cold room, under the entrance porch, I like to insulate and transform it into a laundry room. I can run a regular sill plate on the floor, over foam gasket, and vertical studs distanced from the walls, but I am not sure how to build the framing for the ceiling, in order to avoid the contact of the wood with the cement and attach the vertical studs. Also, I need to run both electrical wires and water pipes through the walls/ceiling insulation. I am considering both options: using sprayed closed-cell foam or XPS boards for insulation.
Any suggestions/advice for the best practice would be appreciated. Thanks.
