Want to put up 2'x4' Fasade ceiling tiles in a room that is decidedly not square (duly noted after I bought and painted the tiles). See image for dimensions -- ignore the calculations on the side. One long wall is about 2"longer than its parallel wall.
The pattern on the tile is essentially 12" circle motifs, so it will be noticeable if the pattern tapers off along a wall.
Where do I start to minimize the optics of an unsquare room? How do I hide as much as possible whatever the effect will be on perfectly straight, heavily patterned tiles?
The manufacturer is not helpful here -- the instructions on how to size the border tiles (i.e to maximize the number of whole tiles on the ceiling) merely suggest that if my walls are not square I adjust their calculations accordingly.
The tiles I am using can be found here: https://www.lowes.ca/ceiling-tiles/fasade-1-ceiling-tile-panel-common-24-in-x-48-in-actual-24-375-in-x-48-375-in-_12549901.html?af=3632&cse=3632&gclid=Cj0KCQiAi7XQBRDnARIsANeLIevwbBYWsxCVey7lrwjn1l-kqFr9T_A3Y8_sQnfCrw4AGnhAZ3Ml2osaAqOqEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
If you are actually parallel but out of square, you can use 1x6 type trim to border the room like very low profile bulkheads going around the ceiling. Use something wide enough where reducing the 2" isn't as noticeable. Without being able to see your room or calculations, that's what I would offer as a possible solution
