I have a wall mounted interior air conditioner. The way it is installed it does not shoot the cold air into my bedroom because my bedroom doorway is adjacent to it.
I would need to make a detachable air duct, something lightweight that will allow me to divert and flow the air into my bedroom so that the nightime will be cooler with summer around the corner.
Can you suggest any materials to do this? I need something expandable or retractable, peferably pvc but any material will do as long as it will get the job done.
Thanks.
Hi Simon,
Actually pretty simple to do some redneck ductwork. Get a 4 X 10 or 4 X 12 boot, 4" plastic dryer pipe and some duct tape (I would normally use foil tape but duct tape is way more redneck) tape the square part of the boot over the duct on the AC unit and tape the dryer pipe to the 4 " round outlet on the boot. The pipe is usually 10 feet long so you could probably get it right into you room.
Good luck with it!

Thanks for the tip, but I went with something made from plastic tarp and velcro. Room is now a nice chilly 21 celsius at nightime :)
