I have condensation on my windows. The furnace fan is on 24/ 7 I have positioned other fans in the house to help with for the circulation of air and I sometimes open the window to change air out. All this to no avail. The humidity levels are usually high but sometimes they are at acceptable levels but there is still condensation on the windows.
I do have a 6 foot basement with no windows and yes it is damp down there as well. I do put on a dehumidifier but it does not pick up any moisture. I do have 2 fans as well. The humidity levels our the same down in the basement sometimes they are good and sometimes they are bad.
Is there a special type of system that I should have and at what cost?
Regards
Dianne
Hi Dianne,
The main reason your windows are fogging up is because the window is failing. This happens to all Windows over time. Our recommendation is to fully replace your windows with new and energy efficiency windows. With that you will recieve lifetime warranty on all of your new windows.
Hi Dianne
Finding the root cause of your humidity is key. Windows dont cause humidity they stop humidity from exiting your home. I suspect your basement is the root of your problem. How old is the home. Follow these instructions from Shell Bussy s formet Winnipegget now located on West coast.

How about installing a HRV system that should reduce the moisture levels in your house and not waste energy.
