I have water coming in from the driveway area through a crack in the foundation. What do I need to do? My property is in Hamilton, Ontario.
I would need to see the issue, send some photos. Cannot asses without seeing.
Thanks Frank. I have sent some photos
Best thing is to repair from the exterior; remove the driveway and excavate to the bottom of the foundation. Then V out the crack, clean apply tar and 2 coats of dampproofing to a clean dry surface or. If you want some additional insurance you could apply a torch-on membrane or a dimpled plastic membrane. The driveway should have a bare minimum 2% slope away from the foundation. Epoxy injection from the interior is not recommended.
The best solution to this problem is to perform exterior foundation repair and waterproofing. I can provide you with a quote for this job.
1)Excavate adequately to the footing. 2) check the drainage. 3) Pressure clean and dry the affected area 4) Parge with special adhesive 5) apply blueskin over 6) Attached dmx over then backfill
