My question is where so I start? Upstairs and basements? I will be hiring someone to do the work.

If any of the work that needs to be done tis upstairs then that should be first. Reason is keep the basement open for and runs that need to be done such as plumbing hvac electrical. Then when all that is completed you can close up the basement.

Good luck

By the way, I should have mentioned as dis the fellow before my post. Complete any plumbing work upstairs first. As you will have axcess from the basement for plumbing and electrical. You will have to run a new GFI power supply line to the new bathroom

Hope all goes well.
