I want to remove an existing window and install a patio door in its place. I want to keep it the same width so as to use the existing header and brick opening. I need someone to remove the window, saw down below the existing window and istall threshold, door, trim etc.. I will need someone who is capable of fixing the 2 feet of brick veneer that will have to be cut (below existing window).

Can anyone recommend a person to do this? The last guy I called didn't want to fix the bricks, he suggest cladding it or getting my own bricklayer, I am looking for someone who can do the whole job.

Hi Thomas, If you just want to deal with one person for your project, you should find a general contractor and work with him. He will coordinate any required sub trades and be responsible for the overall work. You may also be able to find a local handyman to take this on.

You should put your requirements in the "post your project" section so you can get some local responses. Include some interior / exterior photos so they have a general idea of what they are dealing with. This will give them an idea of whether one person can do it or if it does require separate trades.

Good Luck with it!

Jim is correct. Post your project and include the fact that you want some one to take care of all aspects of the project, including masonary etc.
