I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what a contractor charges per sq ft for installing a floating laminate flooring.
I had purchased laminate flooring from Rona and I had a friend install 650 sq ft of floating laminate flooring for me, the click together kind, and I am trying to figure out what to pay him for the job.
Any info would be helpful.
Thank you
Cost really depends on location. Around here it's around $1.50 sqft for labour.
$1.50 to $2.00 if all he did was the floor. Extra for removing old material. And extra if he had to do base boards or shoe base. Shoe base is about $1.00 a lineal foot.
In Alberta, you would be looking at around $2.25 - $2.60 sq.ft.
Have you thought about calling a flooring store and asking them what they would charge to install laminate flooring??
Good Morning:
The rate can vary from 2.50 to 2.75 per sq foot in our area. (Van Island). Phone you local RONA store and find out what their winstallers would charge. that will give you an idea of the going rate in your area. Then fairly deal with the cost yourself.
Hi how r ya...... I gues it all depends on how good of friends you guys are lol. In barrie area its
1.00-1.50$ a sq ' but it looks like i should find new places to install :)
I think the amount would be in the $3.50 to $5 range. It will depend upon a couple of conditions.
Hi Nicole,
I'd say beween $1.25 -2.00/sf. If it was just installing the laminate and quarter round.
Hope this helps, but if this was a friend doing you a favor then it's really up to the two of you.
