Installing dryer vent cover

Could someone tell me how I attach a short piece of 4" dryer ductwork to the plastic vent cover? The separate short piece of ducting I have fits over the 4" protruding 3/4" deep circle at the back of the cover, and the edge of the duct piece then sits flush against the flat back of the cover. On other models, the covers come with a stapled short run of ducting...but none of those versions were available.
