I was just wondering what the cost per cabinet door is to install glass inserts.
Just a ball park number as I have no idea.
Thanks!
Hello Elisa,
I would budget anywhere from 400-800 door depending on the application, wood choices, glass choices etc.

It really depends on the type of door you have.
For example: on a paint grade shaker style door with a plywood panel-it may be as easy as routering out the inside panel to create a frame, and then purchasing the glass, inserting, and using a small paintbrush to touch up the paint. This type of job could be done at about $100 per door.
However, there are many situations where this will not work, and it may be not even be possible to do with the existing doors. Then you'd be looking more at ordering new door frames, purchasing glass, and painting. Depending on size, style, and species: a ball park price would be anywhere from $200 and up per door.
I agree with the previous posts however...coming from a cabinet making background I can tell you that there is almost no cabinet door that can't be made into a glass panel. HOWEVER the more complicated the more costly. For complicated doors the cost could be over 300 per door easily. In a case such as that it may just be more economical to buy new doors or have your kitchen professionally refaced.

This is a job that we do very often. We have about 100 types of textured clear and coloured glass that can go into your kitchen cabinets. Assuming that your cabinets are open style with a rebate or a panel that can be routed out (added expense) glass of your choice can usually be cut to size and installed for less than $100. Leaded glass designs can also be custom made starting at about $130 per square foot.
