Hello.

I have plan install in basement ridge foam 1 1/2" and then use fiberglass. My question, need use vapor barrier after fiberglass. If NO, can you explain why. I very worried about moisture inside between ridge foam and fiberglass.

Thank you.

Hi

Answer is no vapor barrier, reason unless things have changed a perm rating of less than 1 or 60ng is considered a sufficient vapor retarder as long as the foam is well sealed meaning no un-taped or foamed gaps and is continuous meaning framing after its on (1.5" is around 0.65 and 2" is 0.5 perms.

Moisture turns into water on a cold surface not in the insulation.

The system will let water vapor pass back and forth in the wall system and dry (change in were the due point is).
