I am looking to paint the interior of my house ( walls, trims etc ) that's about 2700 sq ft living space ( 1st and 2nd floor ). How do you calculate the actual painting sq ft? What is the price estimate to paint the interior ? How much material is generally required to paint a house of this size ?
We charge 2 dollars a square foot of the floor space for walls. Meaning your 2700 foot house would be about 5400 for 2 coats on walls. We charge 1.25 a linear foot for trim and base board. Ceiling are 1 dollar a square foot for 2 sprayed coats on the ceiling.
It all depends on how much damaged your walls and your wood works ( trims, doors, baseboards) are.
Do you want paint the ceiling too?
A house size like yours without a lot of damage would cost something between 6 to 8 thousand dollars.
You need to spend $1700 to $2000 for material
Hi, if surface is amooth and no need any repair or primer, it will normally cost you 250$-300$ per room.
Material dependes on the quality of the paint and its coverage.
For Material price check with the hardware store to estimate the exact material cost.
Hope I answer the question.
Hi Vijay, there are so many factors in quoting an interior. Anyone that provides a sq ft charge for residential painting is really giving you a ball park figure... that's a large ballpark as well.
We factor in things such as how much furniture you have in your house , closets, trim, crown, ceilings, height of ceilings.
We boil everything down to manhours per project considering these factors.
If you would like us to look at your place I would be happy to give you a detailed consultation.

Attached are some pictures of the house, please note there is no furniture on the main level and just a couple of items in the bedroom. It's almost an empty house as of today. There is no damage on the drywall except some hooks and nails that needs to be removed and patched. The idea is to repaint the house with a different paint.
