I'm a new homeowner and would like to know if getting a furnace maintenance plan is worth it?

If yes, can you please suggest some good companies.

Simply say No to sales people. Make sure you check your furnace filters twice a year (if dirty pull filters out and replace) and have a furnace mechanic come in every spring to check what you cant summing $135.00.
