Hi there, building a new home, have not moved in yet. Id say 80% of the home is stucco. Under certain lighting conditions, the stucco looks horrible. I just turned on the exterior pot lights and sconces for the first time today, and man the stucco looked so horrible. I don't know if this is how stucco typically is or is it a really bad installation. See pictures. i can get more pics.
My quesition is, is this easily fixable or does one have to remove all the stucco and redo? This is BRAND NEW have not even moved in yet. And believe me its much worse looking in person. Is this typical? What type and finish of stucco is best to hide imperfections? Very upset at this.
Thanks for your replies in advance
Lighting like that will always highlight imperfections. However it would appear that this is not the best work possible. Is there any sheathing under the insulation that the stucco was applied to? That could affect the final finish.
Either way this is fairly rough or uneven.
Yes down lighting like that will show every imperfection. However that is a terrible job and is completely on the installation crews talents , or lack off. It can be fixed but it will require an entire new coat over the whole wall by a talented professional crew.
Your in for a battle with the builder to get this done however.

Defenitelly, IT'S a poor stucco instalation period. However light like that will showcase little bit some how specially the sun! When shading.
However this can be fixable. Will need to get a talk to your builder. Second choice we can help.
Some of these pictures I attached show what we did and in the shade look little bit like what happen in your house but berely small because the lighting but never the same as your house, thats not proper instalation.
