Hello!
I would like to expand my home by adding a new master suite over our attached two car garage with flat roof.
Currently the roof of the garage is a deck that is accessed off the kitchen. The roof for the house does not cover this area so I don't think it's as simple as just boxing it in.
Is this project possible? I would need to abutt a new roof against the existing roof? Is that doable? Do you think this would be costly? Thanks.
Dear Charlotte.
It is possible as long as you have
proper architectual drawings.
I would imagine you have to get city involved. Permits etc..
As to a cost. Should be not more than $60.000
Thanks
Yes this is very doable. I recommend you contact a trusted Pro contractor in your local area for direction to move forward. First you will need blueprints by an architect or draftsman so you can get all city permits required. once you have the blueprints you can then get accurate quotes from a few contractors. Concerning cost this all depends on the finishes and mechanical necessary. I would say it will cost $80,000 roughly. Without blueprints and exact finishes you are going with it is almost impossible to give you an accurate quote. if you were in Calgary I would give you a free quote :) again you would be best to contact a trusted Pro contractor in your area
