Is it within code to place 2 electric stoves beside each other in a kitchen?
There's nothing in the Building Code to prevents the installation of two stoves beside each other. There are requirements for clearances to the rear, side and above the appliance(s) to surfaces depending on whether the surface is protected or unprotected (combustible or noncombustible); there are also Code requirements for ventilation.
You can put as many stoves as you want, but there are codes for electrical, ventilation and distances for combustion sources next to or above stoves. They are the same as for 1 stove so no big worries.
If you are adding a large electrical load such as a stove, you will likely need to check to see if the capacity of the existing service can handle the additional load.
You can do this through either load calculation or requesting a historical peak demand report from the utility for the last 12 months.
If you are over capacity you need to upgrade your service to the next size. A Licensed Electrical Contractor can assist you with all of this.
