Is there a licensing system in place for general contractors? And if so, where can I find it?
I'm doing research on general contractors in New Brunswick and the rest of Canada.
Thanks
Hi Jason,
Google is your friend. Try "general contractor licensing new brunswick" for starters. The first page gave me all the sources I would need. Same would probably apply for all other provinces.
Good luck with it!

Hi there,
I know that in Quebec, there is the RBQ (regie du batiment de Quebec) database to check for the competencies of each contractor /company.
https://www.rbq.gouv.qc.ca/en/online-services/licence-holders-repertory.html
And if you want to see if they are "registered" as a sole proprietor or "incorporated", in Quebec there is the CIDREQ (corporate registry) database:
http://www.registreentreprises.gouv.qc.ca/en/services_ligne/default.aspx
I would think that there would be other similar sites for the other provinces.
