Just curious we had an issue with a contractor was to do a roof and dropped off materials and left for a month with no notice of when they were coming back finally we told them to cancel the job I agreed to pay some fees but received a bill that was less than fair argued the price and haven't heard anything for 5 months then got a letter stating they will be taking us to collections since that letter it has been 3 months and no word just wondering what my next course of action is

Was the roof done? Was there any written contracts?

To take this contractor to court for a refund, an the court should take further action for lost time and consideration

I don t want to take it to court I just don t want to pay the bill he is stating we owe him or at least not that amount and the contract was very vague there was no cancellation fee on it, it just stated that we would be charged 20% restocking fee
