Labour costs for tiling

How much should it cost for a contractor to tile a bath/shower alcove (70sqft) and lay dira & tile floor (65sqft)? All materials supplied. Looking for the labour cost.

If its ready for tiling..?? 5 - 6 $ per sqft.

I agree with Danny. Although the area must be ready for the work or additional cost will apply.

7 per sqf if it's not marble.

This also depends on the type of tile...large format are more to install, as is stone, on the wall is typically $10/sq ft.

Only commercial jobs will have wall tile going up for $5-$6 fer foot as the installer has the volume to make it worth the effort and time to install.

Accent tile (if any) has a per lineal ft cost.

Then there is the schluter tile trim.

Usually shower stall and small wash rooms don't work on sft basis as there are lots of cuts and corners, if there are patterns then its more time consuming. At the end of the day consider $ 275 per day for tile setter + what ever the material for underlayment is.

If its big floor area and straight forward level surface, and Porcelain tiles ready to lay the floor then with cement tiles and grout supplied by HO the price per sft. would be starting from 5 $ and can be up to 10$ depending on several site and material conditions.
