Good afternoon,
I currently have laminate flooring in my condo. The floors in one of the rooms received some pretty deep scratches/gouges. I would like to review the options of repairing this or replacing the boards.
Only looking for ideas at this time.
Hi,
There is not much you can do to repair damaged laminate flooring. Laminate is made of MDF which is not repairable when damaged. The most you can do to blend in the scratches is buying a marker or crayon from home depot that matches the colour. Typically AC4 and AC5 laminates floors are more scratch resistant.
Do you know what kind of laminate you have?
What is the approximate square footage of the project?

Depending how severely damage it is sometimes it can be filled with wood filler. However, its best to replace the damaged boards. Do you still have any extra laminate? is it a discontinued product if you have to buy a box?
Thanks for the replies. So I had a buddy come take a look at it. He said its actually engineered flooring. I took some pictures of the damage hoping you guys can tell me how severe the damage actually is, or if it can even be filled in.
Appreciate all the feedback!
The job is not as simple as it seems. You need to know what boards are to be replaced and what direction the boards go... etc.
