Hi there,
We have a partially completed basement that was designed by the previous owner. There is an entertainment area, washroom, and bedroom, with half the basement space left unfinished.
We would like to complete the basement by making a kitchen, and more open space to use for entertaining and for ourselves. We don't intend to rent it out, but would like to get it legally passed, to avoid any headaches in the future (not looking to make a side entrance, etc.).
I reviewed the city guidelines, but to be frank, for a novice like me the info on the City of Brampton website is not very easy to understand, unless you're familiar with all the builder/contractor lingo.
I was hoping to apply for the permit(s) myself, leverage the help of friends where I can (i.e. framing, drywall), and hire experts for other work (plumbing, electrical).
What would be the best way of going about this?
