It could be one of two things. If you wired the light fixture yourself you used the wrong wire. Or the switch is broken.

You probably mixed the wires in the box and tied the light fixture to the line instead of switch leg.

Call professional from your area it is simple fix.

You must have made an incorrect connection within the light fixture.

It sounds like the switch is bad or could be a splice issue in the switch device box.
