Limestone screening instead of gravel and sand for backyard patio

Hi,
We're building a patio in our backyard using concrete slabs (24" * 30"). I contacted the supplier to buy gravel and sand and he suggested to buy limestone screening which is cheaper and said it's common to use it under the slabs.
Is the limestone screening a good choice in long time?

I would stick to the sand and gravel....
Make sure to put a landscapers fabric below to not have weeds pop though.
Polymeric sand on the top between stones I do recommend.
