Matching existing hardwood

Our main floor is a mixture of a majority of hardwood, (cherry), and carpet. We would like to remove the carpet and go for complete hardwood.

Flooring is 10 years old, so has age related wear, which is fine, except how can I make sure the new hardwood matches the existing floor, especially colour? IE, the inevitable fading, darkening, for various reasons, sun, traffic, etc.

Good Morning,

It can be difficult to match hardwood, especially when 10 years old. If you are not going to sand and refinish the old, I would pick a completely different hardwood for the new.
