Trying to stain the interior wood (cedar?) on the walls and floors of my gazebo to match the stain that is on the ceiling which remains in excellent shape/stain ect.
It's a light coloured stain with a little bit of a shine to it that I am string to match.
How can I go about determining what to do/use to match it?
I have attached some pictures which also show some of the new cedar wood on the floors and walls.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Take a piece of old wood and stain shops will mix and match it for you perfectly.
Thanks Alex.
I don't believe I can get one of the roof boards off easily enough to take in so was hoping there was some other miracle option out there still.
Also, I was told that if the board has "grain in it" its hard for them or they can't match it with technology? Perhaps I'm mixing up different conversation though.
I would do the same take a new board and an old one and tell the paint store you need to get it matched up. They will come dead on or very very close. Then a clear coat of oil based urathane.
Just as the other 2 Professional painting companies replied, they are correct.
Taking an existing board/plank accompanied with one you are trying to match to any paint store should be able to match it as close as possible. In doing so in my experience it is usually a 95% -100% match. Hopefully we all answered your questions.
Thanks everyone.
I guess I'll have to take a ceiling board off somehow and also a wall board and get it over to a paint place to try and match.
Appreciate the help.
