I live in Abbotsford, BC, and I'm building a suite and need to know the minimum width a hallway can be. This hallway starts in a living room, contains a bathroom with a pocket door, and at the end has a door into a bedroom which also has its own separate exit in case of emergency. So if anyone knows the minimum width I could make that hallway that would be great.

Hi Chris,

Its 36" in MB but one thing that is likely common across all provinces.

Its 3 feet but you may want to increase to 3'-3" finished to allow easier movement of furniture.

Interesting question to ask because if you are building a suite, you have a permit in place. If there's a permit, then there's a set of drawings indicating the minimum hallway width.
