While preparing to paint in a bedroom of a 12 yr old mobile, we found water when we removed the baseboard. Removed lower portion of drywall, it was moist on back but no mould. Vapour barrier was wet, but insulation is dry. It is an outside wall. Checked outside but could not see a problem, but did caulk seams on siding .
Hi Heather
It does not take much for water to find the lowest point. You must look at all your flashings and drains , eavestrough you may have in the area. Good silicone caulking every where. When you feel you have caulked
ever thing. You must remove a small portion of your drywall and vapor barrier where the wet areas are to prevent any mould. it will come ,especially in the winter.
If someone hasn't just poured water on the floor then look to see if your insulation is all the way down to the base plate air gaps will cause condensation when cold meats hot, If you had any wiring done in the area make shore holes in base plate are sealed, Look under your mobile home to see if any rodents have made a home in the area or made holes in the barrier.
