Hello, We are a fellow small lawn care business. We have advertised that we will do de-weeding for $30 which we have pulled all the weeds from the property. But now she is upset that we didn't dig up the entire backyard. We haven't been paid, there were no physical contract signs just a verbal agreement saying "We will de-weed your lawn for 30 bucks." Do we have the right to inform the customer we are no equipped to do such drastic landscaping, for a low price, and leave? Will, there be any legal consequences. Remembering that we only agreed verbally and we as a lawn care service hasn't been paid. We are just young kids trying out this field of work.
My son experienced a similar situation, adults taking advantage of kids who are inexperienced, tell the client you would appreciate being paid for what you have dome and if they want further work done you can agree on anew price. If not leave, there are no legal consequences.
when you hand out flyers in your neighbourhood make sure you put an astricks stating that price is based on regular size lot and yards that are over grown will be given a separate price
No legal actions will be taken. It's hard to please everyone, lawn care can be bad with people like that all the time. If you want to avoid this maybe change rate to 30/hr and find a easy contract. There's always ones online you can find online without going to see a lawyer. Change to to charge by the hour then it doesn't matter home long the job takes you'll get a bigger check a happier customer.
for $30 why are you wasting your time and energy?..eat the cost and walk away, Find better Clients and make sure they know up front what you are charging and get it in writing. Quite frankly it is your responsibility to make sure your clients know what they are paying for. They all will have expectations. As for legal consequences, highly unlikely this person will spend a couple hundred dollars to sue you for $30 not to mention no contract means no case.
