My partner, who speaks very little english asked for my help. He has been doing tile installation for 25 years and wants to become a private contractor, what steps does he need to take for this in Calgary Alberta

-register as a sole proprietor
-get a city of Calgary business license
-get 1 million liability insurance
-get WCB insurance
-get a reliable work vehicle and all the equipment
-create a proper contract and don't work without one
-set up some supplier accounts for his tile equipment and consumables
-get work
*If he gets set up, send me a message, I may be looking at doing contracts in Calgary in future
