Hi,
We have a small laundry space adjacent to the powder room. The laundry area's dimensions are quite small, 33" x 60".
We purchased this house 4 years ago and I think it was a reclaimed space from the garage. The current layout doesn't allow us to access the backside of the washer or the dryer. Is there any way, we can place a fire-resistant door in the back of the machines so that we can access the back end of the machines? Would that be okay, in terms of code? We live in Brampton, Ontario.
Please let me know.
I look forward to hearing back from the professionals.
Thank you.

The door wouldn't be required to have a fire resistance rating; only to have a tight (weatherstripped) seal to provide a gas barrier between the garage and the rest of the home. Alternatively you could provide a removable panel. an insulated door or panel would be highly recommended but probably not required.
thank you so much; I truly appreciate your help.
There are a few options for access.
Key is that it is air tight in relation to the garage.
