I've been living in my house for over 20 years. I live in southern Ontario about 3/4 hours north of Toronto. We decided to pave our driveway this year.
The paving company removed my old gravel with screening top driveway mid April. They excavated and told us to drive on the "new gravel" for 2-3 months and they will pave the driveway My driveway is about 150 ft long from road to garage. We did have water issues at the garage end, but it looks like that has been rectified.
My question is, I have a 7 meter long crack at the road end of the driveway. I've only had the drive way 7 weeks. Is this normal. Can it be fixed?
I look forward to your answer.
Bad job..they should be warranting that...it is due to poorly packed fill underneath or lack thereof and also if you had a "cold" paved job that is the cheapest and less quality type, hot paved is $$ more but better, that's how they do roads. You can buy various fillers at homedepot if you want to do yuorself but it will nevber be like new.
PS: there is no such thing as a pro telling clients to drive on gravel 1st??? that is BS, they lay sand, gravel, use a "packer" and then they pave
Thank you John
