We have an older home. Masterbedroom and our youngest daughter's bedroom were painted...over existing wallpaper (upon "expert" advice from big box store associate). We now want to remove it but pieces of wall are coming with. Advice appreciated.

You should replace drywall. I have run into this a lot. Either Clients have been told to paint over or wall paper over. Never a good idea, just faster & easier. If you just patch the pieces that come off it will be noticable, I have seen it too many tiimes as well. Unless you are really good @ it. Most people are not feathered out & you can see it.

Colleen is correct. Wallpaper is not a good base for paint or additional layers of wall paper. There are methods to remove wall paper depending upon the type and installation.
