Good day,
I have a town home in Oakville ON. which requires some painting to be completed. The job in question requires wall and ceiling work. Most of the work is standard except for the main foyer. This area is open to the second floor with a ceiling height of approximately 16ft. There are two widows to be trimed on a front wall and a staircase lines the left side wall.
What can I expect from painters when obtaining a quote? Will there be additional charges for this special area or is it no different then painting a regualr area?
Also what should I expect or require the workers to use in so far as safety equipment? ie: scafolding, ladders or just extension poles...
Thanks
Ideal quotes should be a fixed price including paint price will allways vary depending on what needs to be some. And you should not require any equipment your painter should have all of this if you like. I could give you a quote there pictures if you send me them.
Have a great day!
Hi Stephane,
Most painting companies will issue you an estimate that is fixed price, which is usually calculated by the quantities of labour and materials required to complete any given project. If a hard-to-access area is part of the scope of the project, the estimator will incorporate the labour and material quantity to complete that part of the project in the pricing. You should not see any "extra" charges, or add-ons in association with painting a hard-to-access area, unless the painting company requires a scaffolding or lift equipment rental.
Hope this helps!
