The price can very depending on the amount of repair required. If you purchase your on paint you are not going to save any money. if the painting company has been around long enough he will be getting a pretty good discount ( more then half). Painting for 15x20 room with trim will cost anywhere from $700- $1200

Hi Jill,

The going rates will vary from business to business depending on what their overhead costs are, how many coats of paint are required to reach the quality your looking for, and the amount of repairs required as already mentioned by ADS. What is important is that you check references. Sometimes when looking at different quotes your really comparing apples to oranges without knowing it, so it is important to get in writing exactly what the paint company will be providing.

A $400 dollar paint job in a room 15x20 in Durham would be for 2 coats on the walls only no ceiling trim and vary little prep.

Also it would be done by a painter not a custom painter.

Yes is true, Paint is maybe 12% from the Total price, buying the paint maybe save $40, labor is the hard part, my best price for that is $850 materials included (Vancouver Area ).
