I am looking to get a 20x20 patio cover with an asphalt shingle gable roof built in my backyard. The cover would not have any electrical, ligting or skylights.I have a quote for $25,000 which seems high to me. Let me know if that woudl be in the ballpark for this type of structure.

You will need a permit for this size of patio cover. Also depends if it is cedar finishing. A range would be between 10 to 15K. Basically a garage shed without walls held up with post. I suggest get it engineered.

There are a many styles and ways to provide this. I would need to see the location and house.

Hi Reno,

I would not see that as high if he has a high grade finish cedar exposed etc. In fact I would expect it to be slightly over that to be fair for a high end product.

Hi,

From my perspective, a bit more details are expected to be able to provide you with an estimate, like:

- drawing (even a simple sketch) of the structure your want

- where this one would be implemented (attached to the house or not?)

- type of wood you would like to

- if you know: type of ground

Where are you located?

Thanks,

Christophe

Thank you providing some dimensions, the cover can be built fairly quickly, yes $25 can be found high. Contact me with some detail of the area to build it and your location to send you and estimate.

Cheers!
