Hello, I have been searching for a blonde golden oak engineered hardwood floor. Thought it would be easy. Not so! Have found 2 samples I have loved. Each time ordered a box to make sure and see larger sample only to find out that the overall look of the wood is light brown as opposed to golden blond like the sample. I Like some variation in the boards but the overall "look" must be light and golden blonde. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Pam,
You can order the hardwood unfinished in its raw state and have someone finish the hardwood to the colour you like once it is installed.
Hope this helps.
I would suggest contacting some of the manufacturers/suppliers directly. Also, check out exotic woods or specialty wood suppliers. They often carry unique colours and patterns but would certainly be able to direct you in the right direction.
Typically a hardwood floor with light colored stains (natural/latte) tend to lighten/yellow overtime when exposed to sunlight. Could be the sample your looking at is just an old sample and that's why it looks darker coming out of the new boxes. Keep this in mind when using throw rugs and couches that don't get light underneath them.
