i opened a small cafe and had a plumber do all the plumbing for the bar. have the basic coffee shop equipment, espresso machine, ice maker, undercounter dishwasher and 2 compartment sink. they are all at the bar secion that is attached to the wall.
In a coffee shop isn't a floor drain basic???
He had opened the floor to do all the pipping BUT he did not put a floor drain. Now i have an ugly hose that drains the dishwasher into the sink
he is charging me more for using a pump to drain the water from the ice maker because there is no floor drain. should he not have put a basic floor drain since this is a commercial location with a bar???? he claims that it was not requested by the specs of the equipment i gave him. then he said that he was not even informed of what type dishwasher we would have(although the equipment type never changed and all contractors had it from the begin)
- also he is charging me $1500 extra for moving the dishwasher rough ins about 40'' further because we had to change the floor plan and for the pump for the ice maker to drain the water . should i accept that???
By code your drains must go into the sink waste line, not the floor and zoning in Canada requires any establishment that serves food etc. to have a "floor drain". get a plumber who knows what they are doing! You got one who does not and is charging you for needless work & wrong work.
Obc a floor and hub drain is required for a coffee shop.
