Who can give me an estimate of How much a CCDC 2 stipulated Price Contract cost? Trying to find our for my new Company whether to buy a new copy or not.
I make my own contracts, save time and money..plus you can customize, it like what happens if you don't get paid etc. Any contract in writing and signed is binding.
Hi Emmanuel,
The CCDC documents are a great and well vetted way to go. While they are fairly high level for the residential sector, they are the way a project should be contracted.
It will cost you about $100.00 for a .PDF copy from an authorized distributor (Toronto Construction Association, Ontario General Contractor Association, etc.).
Please note that the current CCDC 2 2008 version will become obsolete at the end of June of this year and will be replaced with a newer version.
It will still be completely valid if you engage in a contract prior to that.
If you go that route, I strongly recommend that you go over it with your contractor prior to engaging to ensure that both parties are familiar with what is said and what is expected of them.
You may find in the residential sector that a lot of contractors are unfamiliar with the document and what is actually required in a project.
They do protect both parties.
Best of luck with your project.
Regards,
Jason Irving
