Price per square foot and time frame to build?

Hi there,
We are currently looking at the idea of buying land and building. My wife and I would be splitting 2 acres with my cousin, and both my cousin and us would be building on the lot. My cousin would be building a duplex for herself for renting purposes and my wife and I would be building our family home. We are wanting our home to be anywhere from 2500 - 3500 sqft depending on cost per sqft, and the duplex would be close to the same size.
We're wondering what we would be looking at for a price estimate, and a time frame from start to finish for both.
If a time frame could be estimated for just our family home alone aswell, that would be great as it would be a priority to be built first.
Only looking for ideas at this time.

The cost would be anywhere starting from 550K to 800 for each house if the second unit is for rental and its going to be legal then that could cost more.
This cost will be depending on your design, assuming all utilities and services are available on site. Cost would also depending on all finishing items.
If I were you I would build most modern house with energy efficient, smart, and passive home. House with minimum or zero maintenance, design and build such that you live off the grid for next 25 years. One time cost but its the most environment friendly home.
We are a team of experts and would like to build such homes to set new standards in construction. There are a few houses that are build like that and need to start thinking about it and build accordingly.

Did I just post to your other question about additions? I think so.
Anyway, the cost of a new build in your area is around $175 per sqft. The duplex might end up being a bit more because of the rental.
