Quartz Countertop

Hello. I had a quartz counter top installed in a bathroom. I believed it to be a solid surface product, so was not expecting an unfinished underside much like granite. Can you explain to me why the underside would be this way and if there is any thing I could do to clean it or prevent dust/dirt from getting onto things because of it?

Thank you.

I have been in the contracting business over 30 years and I've never had a client bring this up. They never finish the bottom side of a countertop as far as I am aware of. If this is something you want it finished like the top you should have specified upon ordering. This is just not the norm

Hello Whitney,

Can you please provide with more details. Like countertop brand and some pictures.

Hi Whitney,

Finishing the underside is redundant. It'd be luke painting / staining the underside of stairs...just not standard practice.
