Hello, my cottage is built on piers, no existing pipes or anything. The cottage is only 440 sq ft. 20 x22 ft. I would like to raise it and put a closed in crawl space so that I can insulate the cottage and do an addition. What is the approximate cost of such a project? For the raising. The underneath of the cottage is beams, almost like looking at a skid. The property is south of Minden Ontario.
Thanks for any information that you can help with. Jayne
I am not too familiar with construction costs in Ontario, but based on what will be required for this scope of work you should budget approx. $120K .at least This is based on a truck and crew to jack-and-raise the cottage, a foundation crew to construct and insulate a crawl space, than lower the cottage and weather proof foundation to cottage. While the foundation contractor is on site, install the foundation/footings needed for the addition.

Hi Jayne,
This project here you should budget yourself for about 130k to 150k there's a lot involved in a project like this.
We know the area well, can you send pictures of how it set up. would like to see the slope of the land.
From what you have stated all you want is the house raised, you will complete enclosing it and putting on an addition. Also is it on a 4 season road?
Hello,
How tall of a crawl space are you looking to put under it? Full basement or just a few feet?
regards
Chris
