Hello,
What constitutes "rough grading", and what should it look like along the front of a house that had exterior waterproofing done recently? Also, as the earth naturally compacts, should it be taking the Platon membrane with it? The top of the membrane has broken away from its fastenings in some places and has pulled down as much as a foot. Normal?
Rough grading is usually just bare dirt flattened and sloped properly away from the house. The platon deffinatly should not be pulled down with the normal settling of dirt. Sounds like they did not compact the dirt as they backfilled, which isn't that big of a deal. But they did not attach the platon to the wall properly if at all. All is not lost as you can add another layer of platon on top as long as it's overlapping the lower one by at least a foot. Platon is a good waterproof membrane but its biggest job is to keep the dirt off the foundation and provide a path for water to go down to the weeping tiles.
