Hi,

I was hoping someone would be able to give me an idea of how much it would cost to build a new home per square foot in Saint John, NB if possible.

This is for a 4th-year civil engineering class, and any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

Hopefully you'll get a more complete answer from a builder, but a framer in Ontario will typically earn $8 sqft, a backframer is about $.80 sqft. If memory serves correct drywall guys are $.25-30 sqft and tapers are in around the same.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the other prices are for the other trades along the way. However, your best bet would be to call up local contractors and let them know what you're doing and they'll be more than happy to give you a hand working out the quote.

Hi Tim,

in Montreal, Quebec.

I would say about 180 $/sq.ft. + applicable taxes.

I hope that helps
