House: two-storey house circa 1940, second storey is "cathedral ceiling"
Heated mostly by a fireplace located on the first floor.
After upgrading windows and insulation (the second floor ceiling sprayed with 5" of foam) the second floor is now nuch warmer than the first.
Options i am considering:
1) add layer of insulation between the first and second floor (mineral wool or rigid foam)
2) installing ceiling fan on the second floor.
Thoughts on the above options? Anything else that can be done?
A ceiling fan would help push that warm air around. What do you have for secondary heat? Do you have a furnace or HRV? If you do you could add a return duct and have the fan cycle the air around.
