We have frequent sewage smell in our house and have no idea where it's coming from. We've had MULTIPLE plumbers and contractors to the house, have had the city check the sewage lines to the house and no one can find anything. The only thing 2 of the plumbers suggested was ripping up the floor in the basement to see if there is a floor drain that got covered up. Any other suggestions? We are at a total loss and having to keep windows open in the winter to help with the smell!
The pea trap in the basement floor has a break in it or the water has evaporated pour water down all your basement floor drains
Do you live on a curve street or at the end of a cul de sac..?
Has the smell always been there since you purchased?
If so, contact your city or town and have them inspect the sewage line / elbows as there could be accumulation of debris in those pipes.
I have personally went through these issues in the past.
Please keep me informed.
Thank you
Hi have you noticed that the smell is only in the winter months, as sometimes mice will get into the walls and die, so when they start to rot you will get a smell which is similar to sewage.
If not then you may have a venting issue with the sewer line.
Best of Luck
