What is the best way to insulate a skylight? I've heard about urethane insulation, is that a good option?

Hi K, I don't really understand your question. The skylight itself is just like a window and has an insulation factor built into it - probably double but maybe triple glazed. If you are asking about the light well to get the light into a room, it should be insulated like the area it passes through. It should be vapour barrier first (on the warm side) and then the insulation. If you use foam, you can skip the vapour barrier.

Hope this helps,
