Hi Pros,
Any idea how much it would cost to install a sliding glass door at the back of a house that currently does not have a door? So in other words a cut has to be made to fit and door installed.
I dont have a house yet but when I do get one I'll be looking to do this if the house does not currently have a door.
Thanks!
Hey,
You are looking at $3000 dollars to supply and install and make a hole to fit door. The door will be brick to brick, white vinly on outside and paint grade on inside.
My name is Bill.
Thanks
Hi Andrew,
A new 5ft installed from me is 1500.00 for a 5 ft patio door and 1700 for a 6 foot patio door. That is installed and finished in and out as well as removal.
The upcharge to cut into brick and make an opening with studs, jacks and header is 800.00
Cutting into siding the upcharge is 600.00
Add HST to all prices
Hope this helps.
Hi Andrew,
The price would depend on the size of the door, are there bricks to be removed, does the house have Vinyl siding? Is it a 5 foot door a 6 foot door, is there an existing window with the door is going?
There is a lot of variables. I would charge anywhere from $600-$2000 for installation. It would only be fair to have a look at the house you are purchasing and then I would be able to give you a clear and accurate quote on what needs to be done.

If it is siding we charge $1500, supply and install also includes cutting the hole.
If It is brick we charge $2000, supply and install also includes cutting the hole.
Every thing is framed to code lentils etc inside is trimmed.
We give a 5 year warranty on these installations.
Hi Andrew,
We charge approximately $2,800 for something like this depending on the quality of the sliding door and clad and age of the home.
Thanks
Dave
